The project

The project is funded by the European Commission within the framework of the programme „LEONARDO DA VINCI“.
The project deals with the development and transfer of learning modules on the topic of „Modern management of sports facilities“ for the vocational training and further education in member states of the European Union.

The project is executed in collaboration with partners from five European countries – Austria, Greece, Ireland, Slovenia and Spain.

Objectives of the project are:

• Support of a European exchange in regard to the initial education and training of managers and technicians on the topic of „Sustainable management of sports facilities“
• Development of respective programmes for education and training that can be offered in the whole of Europe

Specific objectives in each partner country are:

• Determination of the actual condition of the initial vocational education for professionals working in sports facilities in each partner country
• Determination of the need for respective educational provisions in the vocational initial education and further training on the topic of „Sustainable management of sports facilities”
• Development of content and didactical methods for learning/teaching modules (Blended learning / e-learning) leading to a
• European-wide recognized certificate „Sustainable Management of Sports Facilities” (preliminary title)
• Creation of the bases for a European Union wide acknowledgment of the further and/or training offers on sports facility management by use of the European Union instruments euro passport, EQF and ECVET

Results achieved by the project shall be integrated into further education for the staff of sport and leisure facilities/parks, spas&wellness and similar recreational facilities.

The following qualification-modules will be processed in the course of the project:

8	Manage a sports facility in accordance with regulations (standards, laws etc.) including health and safety	Germany
