The social significance of the sport was seriously stressed by the European Union in the Treaty of Amsterdam just as the necessity of a balanced and sustainable development in all fields of public life.

SMS associates these two orders by developing transferable training offers for the qualification of managers in sports facilities after the criterions of sustainable and future-capable development (agenda 21) throughout Europe.
The essential components of a sustainable management of sports facilities are for us:

Decisions according to the criteria of the Agenda 21
- ecologically responsible
- socially fair
- economically maintainable
Participation of co-workers, users und residents in planning and decision
systematic quality- and environment management

On this basis, we develop qualification-modules, that partially base on the results of the German experiment "Qualification in sustainable management of sports facilities (QuaSpo)". The results become appraised in the partner-countries and further modules are developed in the course of the project.
